Description
The A49 – CGA consortium was mandated to design and build a health services centre at the St-Jean Garrison of the Canadian Forces. This two-storey building, with a surface area of approximately 7,200 m², is designed to provide primary care medical services supported by basic specialized and diagnostic services as well as dental services. The new care centre is designed to provide functional, quality spaces for users. In close cooperation with the client, an ergonomic and efficient layout was developed to meet the specific needs of the health centre, which aims to examine, treat and train large groups of recruits at the same time. A great deal of attention has been paid to providing natural light in the traffic, waiting and consultation areas through which the recruits must pass, in order to create a pleasant and conducive environment. This project was awarded LEED® Silver certification.
